|Another year over!

I have mixed feelings over 2005.
My health wasn't as good as i'd thought although i am doing much better now. I am managing the diabetes much better and my ferratin levels are down to 1700. The hospital have also prescribed me some pills to stabilise my hormones meaning my hair is returning to normal, the risk to my bones is decreasing and i can finish growing. i have noticed i have grown a little taller and my boobs are growing bigger.
The best thing about 2005 was the start of a new, very special relationship. It is going really well. It's been nearly a year now. I have also made lots of new friends. Luke, Matt, Emma and the rest of the 'family' to name some.
Lets hope this year is even better!
A few bits of bad news though.
On thursday, i went to the hospital as usual. (I have to go to the hospital every Thursday for a venesection which is having a pint of blood taken) Afterwards i always feel unwell. Dizzy and a sickly feeling. I have to get a taxi home even though under normal circumstances, i could easily walk as i don't live far from the hospital.
I was very pleased that my ferratin is down from over 6000 (It should be 40) to 1700....Still a long way to go.
Whilst at the clinic, Dr Hudson explained that my consultant at St. James hospital in Leeds had got in touch. Since through the biopsy, they found substantial damage, i will have to have scans every 6 months. He also mentioned another test that will have to be done and kept up regularly. He explained it in medical
jargon. After the tests i asked what it meant and what they were looking for. Cancer. Very scary indeed. I didn't really hear what he said after that. Trying not to burst into tears, i nodded at what he was saying and got a taxi straight home.
J was upset when i told him. I wasn't going to at first since all he has been through, i knew it would upset him but i really need the support myself...not meaning to sound selfish. I'm not sure when i get the results but i will ask on Thursday.
On Friday, J and I went to have a look at sofas for the new house. We bought a lovely leather suite. The solicitor rang and told me that the completion date is Friday! WE CAN'T WAIT! It is a lovely three bed-roomed house. Two of the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, we also have a store room, out-house and shed. We can't wait to start decorating. I am going to completely redo the bathroom with new suite and everything.
I sent off the paperwork for the sale of my house. The money should come through soon which will be handy as i want to put a new fitted kitchen in too.
There are going to be a lot of changes at Cuba soon. A lot of improvements too.
I have made a few resolutions for this year.
1. Give up smoking. I hear Lady_Lucciola is doing very well!
2. Look after myself better, trying even harder with the diabetes. I will be inviting Lady_Lucciola over. We could try the supermarket tour where they show us the sort of food suitable for us and we can also cook together and try out different menu we should stick to. I also would like to start baking more often and we could bake cakes that we can actually eat! That should be fun as Molly can help too!
I will also be more regular with my journal.
